Three Government sources have 3 different count of trees to be cut:

  • Central Govt's Environmental Clearance Letter = 1200 Trees
  • Deputy Conservator of Forests, Dharwad = 1768 Trees
  • Contract Document between KRDCL and GVR Infra Projects Ltd. (Contractor) = 2633 Trees

    • KRDCL has paid money to GVR Infra to cut 2633 Trees, but Environmental Clearance is for only 1200 Trees!

    RASTR has dug out information on this thru RTI and other sources and is organising this campaign to make the administration plant and nurture >4000 trees through the Mission 4000 Trees, Hubballi-Dharwad Campaign.

    We are also talking to various agencies to get the trees planted...
